Telangana Secures ₹40.8 Crore Refunds for Cybercrime Victims through Lok Adalat

Telangana has facilitated refunds worth ₹40.86 crore for 7,040 cybercrime victims during the third National Lok Adalat of the year. Out of this, ₹12.94 crore was directed for refund in a single day to 4,539 victims, while another ₹27.91 crore had already been settled in pre-Lok Adalat disposals for 2,501 victims.

Among the police units, the Cyberabad Commissionerate led with 1,937 cases, securing refunds of ₹11.51 crore. Hyderabad followed with 941 cases amounting to ₹9.29 crore, while Rachakonda handled 1,061 cases resulting in ₹6.41 crore in refunds. The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau headquarters recorded ₹4.21 crore in 197 cases, and Sangareddy police processed ₹1.04 crore in 266 cases.

With this round of settlements, total refunds through Lok Adalat in Telangana during 2025 have reached ₹138.04 crore, benefiting 18,872 victims. Since the system was introduced for cybercrime restitution in March 2024, a total of ₹321 crore has been refunded to 36,786 victims across the state.

The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau highlighted the importance of prompt reporting of cybercrime cases and urged citizens to stay vigilant. It advised the public to avoid clicking on suspicious links, refrain from sharing sensitive banking details, and verify customer care contacts only through official sources.
