PhonePe has announced the appointment of Umma Saini as Director Creative and Content, marking a significant milestone in her distinguished career in advertising and creative leadership.
With more than fifteen years of experience across leading organisations such as Google, BBDO India, Ogilvy and Mather, and Schbang, Umma is recognised as one of India’s most celebrated creative leaders. She made history as the first Indian woman to host her own stage at Cannes Lions, delivered India’s first Gold Glass Lion wins, and led Ariel’s ShareTheLoad campaign, which set new standards for culturally impactful communication.
Before joining PhonePe, Umma served as Chief Creative Officer at Schbang, where she drove creative excellence and brand transformation across industries. Her earlier role at Google further enhanced her ability to merge technology with creativity, while her campaigns have consistently earned accolades at Cannes Lions, D&AD, Effies, and Spikes.
At PhonePe, Umma will focus on shaping the company’s creative storytelling and content strategy. She will leverage her expertise in blending cultural insights with innovation to strengthen PhonePe’s position as a customer first brand and a leader in India’s digital ecosystem.
