Samsung has announced a major expansion of its Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), strengthening its commitment to equipping India’s youth with digital skills and supporting the Government of India’s Skill India and Digital India missions. The initiative will now expand to 10 states in 2025, up from four states in 2024, and aims to train 20,000 students in future technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Coding and Programming.
The programme will not only focus on technical expertise but also provide soft skills training to enhance workplace readiness. Eligible participants will be offered placement support to help them enter relevant industries.
“Samsung is proud to be a long-standing partner in India’s growth journey. Samsung Innovation Campus, which is aligned with the Government of India’s Skill India and Digital India initiatives, reflects our shared vision of harnessing technology to unlock opportunities for the youth. Through Samsung Innovation Campus, we are equipping India’s youth with future-ready skills, helping them prepare for the digital economy and drive the country’s progress. We remain committed to expanding access to skilling and employment opportunities, especially for students from underserved communities, and to support the Government’s vision of a digitally-empowered India,” said JB Park, President and CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia.
To scale this mission, Samsung has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). The first, with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), will train 10,000 students across Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and West Bengal. The second, with the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC), will reach another 10,000 students in Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Maharashtra.
Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu will be major focus states this year, with 5,000 students each set to benefit from training in advanced technologies. The programme is designed to make future-tech education accessible across urban and semi-urban areas, ensuring underserved communities are included in India’s digital transformation.
Both ESSCI and TSSC, approved by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), will implement the programme through their accredited training centres and partner networks. Since its launch in India in 2022, Samsung Innovation Campus has already trained 6,500 students in emerging technologies.
