Labubu, the popular plush monster toy, is on track to become a billion-dollar business this year.
Pop Mart, the company behind Labubu, released its financial results for the first half of 2025, revealing strong demand for the toy. The Monsters series, which features Labubu, generated approximately $670 million in revenue in the first six months. This puts the series on pace to earn over $1 billion by the end of the year, representing a 688 percent increase compared to last year. The sales have even surpassed those of well-known toys from major brands such as Barbie and Hot Wheels.
Labubu toys are sold in a mystery “blind box” format and have gained international popularity after BLACKPINK member Lisa shared her love for the quirky creatures. Following her, celebrities including Cher, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, and Marc Jacobs were seen with Labubu toys, sometimes using them as keychains on designer bags.
These toys, inspired by mythology and created over ten years ago, have become highly sought-after accessories, drawing comparisons to the popularity of Telfar bags in 2020. Their limited availability makes them especially desirable among collectors and fans worldwide.
The success of Labubu demonstrates the growing influence of collectible plush toys in global markets and highlights how celebrity endorsements continue to drive trends in the toy and fashion industries.
