Xiaomi 17T India launch tipped for April or May ahead of Xiaomi 17 Ultra debut

As Xiaomi prepares to introduce its 17 series in India in the second week of March, fresh leaks suggest another model could soon join the lineup. The 17T is expected to launch in India by the end of April or in May.

The Xiaomi 17 series will include the standard Xiaomi 17 and the flagship 17 Ultra. Both devices were unveiled globally on February 28 in Barcelona, along with the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Xiaomi Watch 5. The two smartphones are confirmed to launch in India on March 11 and will be available via Amazon.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd), the 17T could arrive in India at the end of April or in May. The company has not officially confirmed the launch. Earlier leaks suggested the Xiaomi 17T series, which may include 17T and 17T Pro, could debut up to 4 months earlier than its predecessor.

For reference, the 15T and 15T Pro were launched globally in September 2025 at starting prices of GBP 549 (roughly Rs. 65,000) and GBP 649 (roughly Rs. 77,000) for the 12GB+256GB variant.

The 17 Pro features a 6.83-inch 1.5K (1,280×2,772 pixels) AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 447ppi pixel density, 480Hz touch sampling rate, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and up to 3,200 nits peak brightness. It runs on a 3nm octa core MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset.

Reports indicate that the Xiaomi 17T may be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset, while the 17T Pro could feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset built on a 3nm process.
