Marking its first official entry into the Indian market, The Cheesecake Factory Bakery has partnered with The Gourmet Cafe to launch its dessert and bakery portfolio across the country.
Under a distribution agreement, The Gourmet Cafe plans to open 55 outlets of The Cheesecake Factory Bakery in India. The collaboration covers both B2B and B2C operations and is not structured as a traditional franchise model.
Masthan Adam, Founder & CEO of The Gourmet Cafe, told a publication, “The agreement covers both B2B and B2C operations rather than a traditional franchise structure. The outlets will operate in a QSR format featuring cheesecakes, bakery items, coffee and ice cream.”
The first outlet has opened in Bengaluru. The company plans to expand gradually into metro cities and tier-1 cities in a phased rollout.
The brand will be positioned in the premium dessert segment. Online sales are expected to contribute around 20–30% of total revenues. “The brand is positioned in the premium dessert segment, focusing on cheesecake specialisation and differentiated portion sizes compared to local offerings. We are aiming to garner revenues of Rs 200–250 crore over the next 5 years,” Adam added.

Also for the first time, we will have an eggless cheesecake which has been approved specifically for the Indian market, marking a key localisation milestone. We will begin with offering about from 14 flavors of cheesecakes and expand it to 20–25 variants in the coming months,” Adam explained.
The introduction of an eggless variant marks a key localisation step for the brand as it adapts to Indian consumer preferences.
