Disney+ is set to introduce a new short form vertical video feature in the United States later this year. The move marks the company’s entry into the fast growing space dominated by platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
The new feed will feature original short videos, repurposed clips from Disney’s vast content library, and highlights from popular films and television shows. All content will be optimised for quick and easy viewing.
“Disney is bringing vertical video to Disney+ in the U.S. this year, which follows the successful launch of Verts on the ESPN app. The experience will evolve as it expands across news and entertainment and delivers a more personalized, dynamic experience that reinforces Disney+ as a must visit daily destination,” the company said.
The plan was revealed during the company’s Tech and Data showcase at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. Executives explained that the goal is to make Disney Plus a platform users visit every day, rather than only when they want to watch long form shows or movies.
Personalisation will play a key role in the new feature. The platform will tailor video recommendations based on individual viewing habits and interests, making the experience more relevant to each user.
Disney has already tested the concept through Verts on the ESPN app, which offers personalised sports highlights. The new Disney+ feed will expand this idea to entertainment, news, and fan content. The company hopes this will bring the same level of engagement seen on popular short video platforms into its premium streaming environment.
