Samsung has announced plans to bring Google Photos to its AI-powered smart TVs next year, starting with the Memories feature that highlights curated photo stories on large screens.
The South Korean technology company said the feature will arrive on its AI TV lineup in early 2026, making Samsung the first smart TV brand to support Google Photos Memories. For the first 6 months after launch, the feature will remain exclusive to Samsung TVs.
Memories is a key Google Photos feature that automatically surfaces images and stories based on people, locations, and meaningful moments. Until now, it has been limited to smartphones and tablets. With this update, users will be able to view these curated memories directly from their living rooms.
“Through this partnership, we help users rediscover and relive cherished moments by bringing to light the stories behind their photos — right from the comfort of their living room,” said Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at the Visual Display Business of Samsung Electronics.
Samsung said its AI TVs will also integrate Google Photos with the Vision AI Companion. This will allow the TV to naturally surface memories during the day when they are contextually relevant and appropriate to display. The rollout of the Memories feature is expected in March 2026.
In addition, Samsung plans to introduce 2 more Google Photos features later in 2026. The first is Create with AI, which offers themed templates built on Nano Banana. Users will be able to use Remix to change the art style of images or use image to video tools to convert still photos into short animated clips.
The second feature is called Personalised Results. It allows users to view memories or topic based photos as slideshows. For example, selecting “hiking” will instantly show a slideshow of hiking related photos.
Samsung confirmed that all AI TVs launching in 2026 will include these features out of the box. Existing AI TVs already on the market will receive them through over the air updates. Users must be signed into their Google Account, and the Memories feature must be enabled to access the experience.
